ST ANDREW'S METHODIST CHURCH

Sunday Services
Sunday Worship
We worship together at 10.30am on Sunday mornings and everyone is welcome to come and join us.
Each week we sing hymns or modern worship songs, pray, hear readings from the Bible and think about what God might be saying through them. The service will be led by either a minister or local preacher, but many other people take part, through welcoming, music, leading readings or prayers, helping with the multimedia, leading the children’s and youth work or livestreaming the service. After the service finishes there is tea and coffee, and a chance to chat to friends and meet new people.

Each week at St Andrew's is different, but we do follow a pattern in our worship.

Explore Services - First and Third Sunday of the month
These services are Intergenerational - we enjoy spending time together as all ages as we worship God. During the sermon, there is the option to go into the hall and explore the reading through a fun craft activity, especially popular with our younger congregation! We then all join together again to think about what we have learnt, pray and sing before we close.

Second and Fourth Sunday of the month
During these worship services the children aged 11yrs and under begin in the service with us for the first 15 minutes or so, before going out to their group for the rest of the morning worship. When we celebrate Holy Communion, they will begin in their Superheroes group so that they can join us for the Communion later in the service. Young people remain in the service but have their own youth discipleship group from 5:30pm - 7:30pm.

Holy Communion - One Sunday a month
One Sunday a month we share in Holy Communion together as part of our morning worship. In this service we share bread and wine (gluten free and non-alcoholic) as we remember Jesus’ death for us and his resurrection. We celebrate the fact that Jesus is alive and with us and that we can know our sins forgiven and a new relationship with God through him. We may not all fully understand but we believe that God welcomes us and accepts us as we are. All are welcome!
